Postpartum bleeding often starts like a heavy period, then fades to pink, brown, and off-white discharge over the next few weeks.

Light spotting or pink/brown discharge for up to 6 weeks is often expected; period-level flow, clots, or a sudden surge needs a call to your surgeon.

Bleeding is often “too much” when you soak a pad or tampon in under 2 hours, bleed longer than 7 days, or feel dizzy, weak, or short of breath.

Light spotting for 1–2 days can happen early on, but heavier flow, clots, dizziness, or one-sided pain needs same-day medical care.

Most private wells need a shock dose that yields 100–200 ppm chlorine, and the bleach amount depends on the gallons of water in your well and system.

Most private wells can be shock-chlorinated with unscented 5–6% household bleach, sized by your well’s water depth and the gallons in your home’s plumbing.

Use plain, unscented liquid household bleach: add 8 drops per gallon, stir, and wait 30 minutes before drinking.

For most hard, non-porous surfaces, mix up to 1 cup of regular household bleach per 1 gallon of water, then keep the surface wet for several minutes.

For 100 gallons of clear water, add about 1/4 cup of plain liquid bleach, mix well, then wait 30 minutes before drinking.

Use 1 tablespoon of regular, unscented liquid bleach per 1 gallon of water, soak dishes 2 minutes, then air-dry.
